PLAY BALL!!

Mason had his first baseball game today...and it was COLD!! I mean, really COLD! I wouldn't have missed it for the world, but I do wish the weather was more Spring-like!
It was a great game - and I just love our team! The parents are wonderful, the kids are great...and I just really like watching a good game of ball...especially when my favorite player is on the field!

Another chair...

I admit, I have a chair fetish. And not just any chair will do! It has to be worn out...rickety...it must have a past! I found a gem today! And Mike told me to stop bringing home chairs (LOL!), but I've been looking for an antique white chair for the "new" old black desk I just bought. And it was only $8!!! I'm in the process of making a scrapbook/craft corner in our guest bedroom (I've been working on it for over a year)...I'll post pictures when I'm done!

Update on Gracie

Today was hard. I knew I would have trouble with the anesthesia. Watching G go from louds scream, flailing legs and arms, a terrified look to a complete lifeless sleep was one of the hardest things I've ever seen. And I knew she wasn't in pain...but she looked at me with those big eyes...she needed my help. And if she only knew that I hurt too...and that I was doing this because I want to help her. She was very scared, but she did so well - I am so proud of her!

Grace does have vesicoureteral reflux...urine from her bladder is flowing back up into her kidneys. And while this isn't the news we hoped for...we did get some good news. Her kidneys do not show any kind of damage. We are waiting for blood test results and we have an appointment with a urologist next week. We appreciate all of your continued prayers for our sweet girl!!

On a happy note, here is Gracie in her very favorite spot...she loves to hang out in the middle of all of the pillows on our bed...

I rarely catch "the Gracie smile", but here it is...in all its glory!!

Motherhood is not for Sissies!

Being a mommy is hard! I think I have the good stuff down…you know, the hugs, the encouragement…I can make rules, I feel like I’m a good role model. But the pain that I feel when my children are in pain is like no other emotion I have ever felt…and I just didn’t expect to feel so connected...so helpless...so responsible!
But I do.

And I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Because without the heartache and worry, I would never feel that kind of love between a mother and a child.

Isn’t it the best?

My little Gracie has been through some tough times. And I worry so much because most of her medical conditions have not had a particular daignosis…so they certainly haven’t had a solid resolution. Tomorrow we are taking her to have a VCUG (voiding cystourethrogram) done…they are testing her bladder and kidneys to make sure they are working properly. Please keep her in your prayers.

Ruthie

Ruthie is by far my favorite gift I've ever given!! And I love that Gracie loves her as much as I do. She was a gift to G for her 3rd Birthday and I hope that she treasures her forever! Ruthie's skirt and tights are made from my mom's shirts...definitely a special gift for a special little girl!

I love you Gracie...and may you remember that you will always have a very special angel watching over you! Happy birthday, sweet girl!

Happy 3rd Birthday Gracie Grace!!

May all your wishes come true!!

Spring is my favorite time of year! I love to watch everything bloom! I know it's supposed to get cold in the next couple of days, but our trees are telling me springtime is on its way!! HOORAY!!

Positioned to be Used

You've heard me mention Flavour at Fellowship Church...it's the best. I wanted to share a devotional that I received today from Lisa Young. Her messages are always great!! This month's Flavour is coming soon...March 10th at 7p.m.

How are you positioned in life? Are you standing on prime real estate? You may look around and not see anything special, but even when you're going down the pasta aisle at the grocery store, you could have a divine appointment nearby. Maybe it's with the grocery clerk, or it could be with the mother on the next aisle who is having a really bad day. No matter where you are, God can use you to change the course of someone's day.

You may not understand why certain things are taking place in your life. Know that no matter where you are right now, God is with you, positioning you to be used.

Pray that God helps you to become more sensitive to those 'divine appointments.' Be open to the opportunities that God puts in your path to use your unique Flavour to help bring someone closer to Him. Even when we don't understand what's going on around us, God does. And He's at work in you so that you can experience the supernatural life that He intends for us all.

Living above natural means,
Lisa Young

Meet Hank...our new car!!

Yes...we name our cars...and yes, I took a picture...haha!! We love our new Honda Pilot! And even though it's a little smaller than our Tahoe, it seems bigger because everything (including the third row) is so accessible!! And where has that dvd player been my whole life!! If you are in the market for a Honda you should visit Jeff Milegar and Danny Gomez at David McDavid Honda in Frisco - they have outstanding customer service!!

It's the simple things...like french toast!!

It's the simple things...like making french toast with my kids on a Saturday morning...that make my world go 'round!!

This is my favorite french toast recipe...very easy and oh so yummy!!
