Today was hard. I knew I would have trouble with the anesthesia. Watching G go from louds scream, flailing legs and arms, a terrified look to a complete lifeless sleep was one of the hardest things I've ever seen. And I knew she wasn't in pain...but she looked at me with those big eyes...she needed my help. And if she only knew that I hurt too...and that I was doing this because I want to help her. She was very scared, but she did so well - I am so proud of her!
Grace does have vesicoureteral reflux...urine from her bladder is flowing back up into her kidneys. And while this isn't the news we hoped for...we did get some good news. Her kidneys do not show any kind of damage. We are waiting for blood test results and we have an appointment with a urologist next week. We appreciate all of your continued prayers for our sweet girl!!
On a happy note, here is Gracie in her very favorite spot...she loves to hang out in the middle of all of the pillows on our bed...

I rarely catch "the Gracie smile", but here it is...in all its glory!!
